We spent the bulk of the weekend installing the kitchen tile, and it’s more beautiful than I could have ever expected. The effect is like stone,
but the cost, maintance, and installation were all very pleasant because it was ceramic, and at $3 a sq. ft. I’m not complaining. Hooray for flooring in the kitchen.
Also, here’s some images from earlier in the remodel. This is the first cabinet run:
See how ugly backerboard is as flooring:
Here’s a shot of that corner after the open shelves were hung:
I searched everywhere for iron brackets that could be hung in reverse, cause that was the way Stacy and I always envisioned them.
The new fence is finally up. Here’s some before, during and after shots.

And yes, those were the blackberry brambles. So next year will be a bit lite on the berry harvest while we restructure their ‘habitat’.
Think the orange tree is lonely? I don’t, it has more fruit then ever now that it’s not under the shadow of the blackberry.
Yes, that’s Robin putting the final screws into the top of the pickets. Now we need to seal it ASAP. The rains are coming, the rains are coming. Although you can’t tell that today, but don’t be fooled by our microclimate!
